Marco opened the fridge, taking in the lack of food in it. Instead, there were bags of donated blood, willingly taken from the blood bank. Well, Marco had willingly taken it. He searched through it, trying to find his favourite type, AB positive, but because it was his favourite, he had run out pretty quickly. Now he was left with the usual A and B stuff, the boring blood as he loved to call. He needed it though, needing his second hit for the day. It was just past one, so he doubted that anybody else he knew was at home that he could ask. Taking out a bag of A blood, he poured it into a glass and popped it into the microwave. It just seemed to be his luck when the offending piece of technological equipment shot out a few sparks and promptly died. Marco growled in frustration and he downed the blood. That was the last straw. He was going to find Addy and see if she couldn't be more help.
Addy and his brother lived in the same apartment building, but they got the penthouse flat, and didn't live too far. Things between Marco and Leo had been rocky for about seven years now, caused by the whole Leo dating and finally becoming engaged to Addy. For Marco, that had been one heck of a betrayal, and even thinking about it, caused a few clouds to roll in. Due to the special nature of his powers, Marco felt things a bit more strongly than most which then in turn went straight to the weather. After a year or two of discovering his weather control, Marco figured out the basics. Happiness caused sunshine, anger caused thunderstorms, depression or sadness was rain. Snow he usually just willed out of nowhere, but that was for the Academy only.
Pulling on a shirt, Marco proceeded to the penthouse flat, a few floors up from his own. Knocking on the door, he waited for answer, really hoping that a) Addy was home and not his brother and that b) they had a well stocked store of blood.

→ HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS THAT YOU'RE DEAD ?NO ONE EVER HAD MUCH NICE TO SAY ,( I THINK THEY NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY ! ) - - - - - - - - - - Leo had been home, alone, as was per usual as of late. Addy had been so busy with her headmistress duties that they rarely had time alone anymore. They tried to set aside one day a week dedicated for just them, but even lately, that had been hard. They had gotten lucky this week – Addy had, in fact, remembered her note and restocked their mini fridge and fridge with blood. He didn’t really have a favorite; he just kind of took what he could get. Sighing, Leo stood up off the couch, where he had been grading papers. The coffee table was an absolute mess, but he couldn’t think in any other room of the house. They even had an office space, but it was rarely used by him. Maybe because so much of his life and Addy’s together took place in the living room. Don’t get me wrong, they had a bedroom, but the living room was just like their common space, their entertaining area, and everything in between. With Addy’s family background, they’d lucked up and gotten the penthouse. Not that they couldn’t afford it or anything, it just helped – especially with them being such a young couple – for her familial ties, as well as her position as headmistress at the Academy them out by lending more support to their we’re independent and can do this on our own tirade. Looking back, Leo knew the relationship between he and his twin had reached a breaking point when he and Addy had begun dating. This only further ripped it upon their engagement. He hated knowing he was hurting Marco – they were twins; they weren’t supposed to hate each other. And Leo didn’t hate his brother, but he knew Marco felt something similar to hate towards him. Not that he couldn’t blame him, he’d probably feel the same had the situation been reversed. Hearing a knock on the door, he walked over. Looking out the eyelet, his mouth dropped open. Obviously, he had not called because Leo would have answered and not Addy and he then wouldn’t even be seeing his twin on the other side of the door. Opening the door, he leaned against the door frame. ”Hello, Marco.” He said coolly. ”Can I help you?”

Marco waited patiently for the door open, his own mind reviewing lesson plans for the upcoming school year and things that he could do to keep things interesting. He was bored of doing the famous composers and wanted to delve deeper into the more unknown ones. Of course he would have to have it approved by Addy, seeing that she was his new boss. Hopefully, she would the breath of fresh air that the Academy needed, because he couldn't stand the stuffiness any more. Then again that was his own personal opinion.
Marco heard the front door latch click, and he got his warm smile ready for Addy, he was rather greeted with the form of his twin brother. His face fell into the usual cool exterior that he usually acquired when he saw Leo. Leo's vocals were cool enough to freeze over hell, but Marco didn't let that deter him. Hello Leo. Is Addy home? Marco asked, allowing just a hint of venom to slip into his greeting. This was the usual thing when the twins were forced into each other's company, but the sad thing was that it hadn't always been that way. They had been as close as twins could be, and it had been a brotherly friendship that Marco had thought to be able to with stand anything. That is, until Leo had started going out with Addy. That had been the straw that broke the camel's back and now they were civil with each other.
Marco waited for an answer, already feeling the tension building between the two of them. He grinned as he heard a low rumble of thunder carry in the distance. The weather was the easiest way to show Leo how he really felt about the situation. Sometimes it was easier to show things than say them. Especially when one is a vampire with powers.

→ HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS THAT YOU'RE DEAD ?NO ONE EVER HAD MUCH NICE TO SAY ,( I THINK THEY NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY ! ) - - - - - - - - - - Addy was very easy going when it came to letting her staff do what they wanted in terms of lesson planning and veering from the normal curriculum. She’d been working exceptionally hard the past few weeks making sure everything was perfect. There had been more rumors of a war breaking out and it was tearing her down, although she never let it show. That was something that bothered Leo because he knew she would just bottle it up, and there wasn’t anything he could do to get her to talk about it. He had never meant to betray his brother, and of course he had done it in the worst possible way. There were things, however, that Marco didn’t know about the time he had spent with Addy. Leo hated only being civil with his brother – it wasn’t like he hated him. But neither one had made an effort to do any kind of forgiving, so he kept the same front up that Marco always used with him. No sense in him trying when his brother clearly didn’t want to attempt at reconciliation. ”No, she’s not I’m afraid. Some last minute things at the school came up.” He said, looking to Marco. Hearing the low rumble in the distance, Leo just shook his head. ”Really, Marco? I thought we were above this.” Smirking, he opened the door wider. ”Would you like to come in?” He asked him, stepping back into the living room, leaving one arm on the door frame. No sense in being a bad host, even though he felt sure Marco would just want to leave rather than come into the apartment he shared with his twin brother’s former lover and ex-girlfriend. His brother had manifested the weather manipulation power about the same time as he began showing signs of his power of tongue. Both boys had just about perfected their own powers about the time Addy and Leo had begun dating.

Marco glowered slightly when he saw the smirk on his brother's face, but he hid it quickly behind a mask that he had perfected over the years. I guess I will, he replied smoothly, entering the penthouse apartment that his brother and his best friend shared. It hurt somewhat, but it was a brief pain. Not much to make him manipulate the weather again. For awhile he had worried that he would never actually be able to manipulate his powers properly, but by now those feelings were only a mere memory.
He made his way to the living room, trying to dispel the tension building in his body and the atmosphere. There was a lot that he wanted to tell Leo, mainly that he hated that they weren't close any more, that he was sorry for everything and he was actually happy for him and Addy. He just didn't have the words to do so. Leo was the one that could learn the languages, speak the smooth words, but Marco had been struggling to voice his feelings for as long as he could remember. As a vampire, forever was taken literally and he didn't want to end up in a few hundred years and regret the choices he made.
It was actually pretty good looking place, his own bachelor pad much smaller and much more cosy. He liked that he could still call it a bachelor pad and have it be the truth. Marco wasn't the type for a long term relationship, his trust issues still needing to be worked on. He made himself comfortable on one of the couches, the silence in the room not getting to him. It was awkward to be sitting so close to his somewhat estranged brother, but he couldn't find the words to talk.

→ HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS THAT YOU'RE DEAD ?NO ONE EVER HAD MUCH NICE TO SAY ,( I THINK THEY NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY ! ) - - - - - - - - - - Moving deeper into the apartment, he settled onto the couch as Marco made his way in. Gesturing towards the mini fridge, he spoke calmly yet cool. He tried to not let his voice sound like ice, but Leo felt certain it held a certain icy tone to it. ”Blood is in there; you can thank Addy for it being full.” He couldn’t hide anything – his brother had always been better at hiding his emotions than Leo. Addy had always been a constant in their lives, ever since the beginning when they had met all those years ago. But they had never been able to hide what they were feeling from her. Leonardo couldn’t begin to pinpoint the exact moment he had realized the emotions he held for Adaleen Darcy were more than friendship, but he had respected his brother enough to do nothing about the growing love for her. It was getting harder and harder not to reach out to his twin brother. It was no secret that Leonardo was the one who was savvier when it came to words, or anything dealing with language really. He had picked up every language he had ever tried to learn within a month – it just came naturally, as that was his power. Marco had gotten weather manipulation and that had been the way he voiced his feelings. But Leo had had enough. He was tired of the arguing and the tension that held the air anytime they were around each other. Their lives shouldn’t be this hard. As Marco moved further into the apartment and then sat down, Leo thought long and hard about what to say. It was moments like this when he wanted to reach out, but he couldn’t form the words. He wanted to tell Marco how sorry he was for all the hurt he was certain he had caused his twin, that the last thing he had ever wanted to do was rip their friendship apart, that he loved Addy with all of his heart and it ripped both of their hearts in two that they didn’t have Marco’s blessing. Leo had wanted to ask Marco to be his best man; it shouldn’t be so hard to ask your own flesh and blood to do what seemingly seems like a harmless task, but the weight behind the request carried a lot of pain. ”I heard you two had coffee the other day.” He offered civilly.

How could he tell his twin that he was going to give them his blessing? How could be at the wedding and keep his feelings a secret? How could he move on from the one girl he would probably always love? How could reconcile with the one person that meant more to him than anything? Leo was his twin, his flesh and blood, the loved one of the family, and the one person Marco would go to the ends of the earth for. Now, here he was, faced with all the seemingly impossible questions that he had no answers for. He could hear the ice in his brothers voice, the forced civility. He hated it. There had been a time when they had been as thick as thieves, causing enough trouble to last a life time. Now, Marco had this aching sadness and this sadness translated to the slight drizzle that was now in New Castle. Leo was the one who could manipulate words and say things, and yet sorry escaped them both.
We did. It was quite a random event actually, he answered. Marco was still searching for the right words. He opened his mouth when he thought he had found them, but closed it again when they weren't. He must have looked like a cod fish doing that, but he didn't care. He must tell Leo that he was sorry and that he could never not give his blessing, no matter how much it hurt. Leo. I just want to tell you, and I've been meaning to tell you, that you and Addy have my blessing. You make her happy, and she you, and that is all I can ask for, he said, not forcing the words out, but not hurrying them either. All tension left his body when he had finally said them, as if it was the weight of the world lifted off his shoulders.

→ HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS THAT YOU'RE DEAD ?NO ONE EVER HAD MUCH NICE TO SAY ,( I THINK THEY NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY ! ) - - - - - - - - - - If Leo could have gone back and done everything different, he would not have changed a thing. Adaleen Darcy was his heart and soul, and nothing would ever change the way he felt about her. The only thing missing after the night the couple had shared in the apartment just days ago was his twin brother’s blessing. That night, they had finally decided on a date and a place and he knew that both of their parents would be overjoyed. Leo would have his hands full trying to keep Addy from letting her mom drive her crazy, insisting on everything going her way. Truthfully, he did feel as though she had her hands full enough with running the academy but they also needed to get married. They had been engaged far too long, and it was driving Leonardo crazy with Adaleen’s last name still being Darcy. She would be a Romano before it was said and done with, and Marco would be her brother in law, despite whatever had happened between them in the past didn’t matter. Looking around the apartment, he moved to the couch and sat down. Regarding his statement about grabbing coffee with Addy, he nodded his head. ”Yeah, the way she talked about it was a rather surprising run-in.” What was so hard about finding the right words to say to his brother? He had always been the one who had been good with languages since the beginning – that had been his forte even early on. Leo had shown strength in that area growing up and it had immediately won him the affection of their parents and Marco had always kind of been in the shadows after that. This, however, did not take away from how close they were growing up. Listening to the words spill from the mouth that hardly ever spoke, he immediately straightened up to listen. Taking them in, his eyes lost their icy glare and he looked to his brother. Standing, he moved closer to him and wrapped his arms around him. ”You have no idea how relieved I am to hear you say that.” After hugging his brother, he stepped back, his turn to speak. ”Will you do me the honor of being my best man? There is no one else in this world who deserves to be by my side. You are not only my best friend, but my brother, and my twin at that. There is nothing that has been more miserable in my life than us not speaking. I am truly sorry for how things happened, but I can’t go back and change it. I’m not sure I would if I could. I love her Marco, more than anything in this world and you’re right – she does make me happy.” ( marco ) ( 4 6 2) ( DEAD BY MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE ) ( sorry it took so long; had a lot going on. ) ( BROOKE FROM CAUTION )

Marco’s ability to control weather was always seemingly overshadowed by Leo’s ability to learn languages in what seemed like an instant. Pushed aside, he had loved his brother, but sometimes he also just wanted to be noticed. There was nothing like not being noticed by his parents, even lately it was just Leo and Addy. The wedding and the wedding plans. How selfish Marco was being. Grandchildren. Slowly, Marco was retreating into the shadows and trying to figure out what he should do to gain some sort of acceptance. He came up with a blank, because nothing he ever did would compare with his twin. His brother, because as always, Leo had come out tops. He had won Addy’s affections when Marco had failed and there was no one else for him.
The suddenness of Leo’s hug forced Marco to rethink. His own arms wrapped around his brother and they were reunited once more. Truthfully, Marco had missed his brother. A lot. Until this thing with Addy, they had been quite close. They had worked at the same school, and where Leo was the professor everybody saw, Marco was more hidden in the shadows. By his own choice this time. He was always in his office or classroom. He didn’t more than that. A recluse was a very accurate word to describe Marco lately.
Marco listened, and he paused to answer when Leo asked him to be his best man. Addy wanted him at the wedding, and he would have gone, but best man? He never wanted to be a part of the wedding, especially not in such a big way. Just because he had given his blessing, did it mean that he wanted to appear at the wedding in such a big way? Deep inside, he knew that the answer was always yes. He nodded slowly. “Yes. I’ll be your best man,”he said softly, not actually regretting the answer. It wasn’t something he’d regret anytime soon. Or at least he hoped not. He had a lot of regrets in life and each one haunted him on a daily basis.

→ HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS THAT YOU'RE DEAD ?NO ONE EVER HAD MUCH NICE TO SAY ,( I THINK THEY NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY ! ) - - - - - - - - - - The years they had spent not speaking had taken its toll on Leo. Without his twin brother by his side, he had been incomplete. Sure, he had Addy, but life wasn’t the same without his best friend. They had been as thick as thieves growing up, even if Marco had kind of been left in the shadows. Leo tried his best to always include his twin in everything they did growing up, and more times than not he always obliged. It seemed as though, once again, Leo was on top in their competitive nature, but Leo had never viewed their relationship as a competition. Both their parents and Addy’s parents had been after the couple to set a date since they had been engaged for forever, and they finally had, so hopefully that would get some pressure off of him as a dutiful son. He had never thought of Marco as in the shadows simply because they had always been together. They may have flourished with different talents, but they were still brother, friends, blood, family. Feeling his brother return the hug, he relaxed considerably. Knowing his brother wanted to reconcile with him as much as he did in return made him feel a lot more at ease with the whole situation. Words failed him at trying to explain how much he had missed his brother and their time spent together; now, they would have a lot of making up to do. Seven years had passed without them so much as a conversation passing between the two of them, but one step at a time. You had to put one foot in front of the other with things like this. As his twin looked at him, and gave his acceptance at the offer of being his best man, Leo was overjoyed. He had previously released Marco from a hug, but now he drew him back in for another one. ”You don’t know how much that means to Addy and I.” He said softly, letting his brother go again. Taking a seat on the couch, he motioned for his brother to join him. ”Shall we catch up, or something? It’s been a long time, brother.” ( marco ) ( 3 6 4) ( DEAD BY MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE ) ( sorry it took so long; had a lot going on. ) ( BROOKE FROM CAUTION )
