Max is blonde, blue eyed and tall.

Full Description:
Max is blonde, not bleach blonde, but a dirty blonde with dark roots. It is short but thick, hanging slightly in his eyes and covering part of his ears. His eyes are a deep blue, just a darker shade than sapphire blue, closer to an ultramarine color. In a neutral expression, Max does have a reproachful look about him, mainly because of his wide-eyed, almost adult looks. There is a hint of innocence about his facial features, but those who know him, usually just laugh it off and say that it isn't so. On the days he does forget, his face does sport some fluff, but it just adds to those handsome looks. With a slightly pointed noise, one can really see the resemblance between him and the animal he turns into. Max is tall, around 1.87 metres, but is lanky in his build. He does have slight muscle, but isn’t built like most guys he knows. He doesn’t have any piercings, but does have a tattoo on his shoulder of a red fox. It isn’t big, about the size of his palm, and one doesn’t see it until he takes off his shirt. Max’s clothing choices are smart casual, black jeans with a button down shirt and a comfortable pair of Doc Martens. On his really casual days it will still be jeans, but with a normal t-shirt and converse trainers. Max doesn’t like dressing up in penguin suits and will avoid them at all costs.

Wears contact lenses, sometimes in different shades, because he is short sighted.

Personality:
What he appears to be: Max withdraws himself from large social gatherings, like a mall or shopping center, unless forced by circumstances to do so. He is an introvert, and sometimes doesn't talk above a whisper. This does make him a target for bullies, but that is if they can find him. He retreats into places where people cannot find him, and prefers to keep his life and past a secret. Max is a tad inept when it comes to making friends, his quiet nature thought to be weird. He isn't the type to reach out to people and he does actually enjoy the loneliness. He has made high walls around himself, and it will take someone extremely dedicated and willing to break through them.

What he actually is: Max has a sense of humour and sarcastic as can be. Very few outside his close family have seen this, and he is actually a pleasure to be around. He can’t keep secrets very well, but seeing that he doesn’t have anybody to tell, writes them down instead. His creature that he shifts into is a fox, and like a fox he can be sly and calculating. Max doesn’t show this very often and when he does it is for the sake of a friend that he wants to protect if he does know that they can be harmed. He is caring and protective, but once more he rarely shows this side. From a young age he thought his intelligence to be a curse and he hides it, not wanting to become more of a target than he already is. He maintains a B average, but does better in exams than in class work. Max is gay, and he is out of the closet, but it is the one thing that he would defend himself against if taunted. He can pack quite the punch when he actually has the motivation to.

History:
Max was adopted into a well off British family in Munich, Germany. His sister, four years his senior, became like a mother figure to him later in life, as his adoptive mother passed away when complications arose during child birth of what would be his younger sibling. Max's own beginning was much different. His mother was a shifter, and fell pregnant with him after a one night stand. He was one half of a twin, but his brother was still born. It was a give birth and run thing, Max being put up for adoption. Susanna and Bart were lucky to have Louise, but wanted a second child. They were unable to fall pregnant and so adopted Max. A year later, Susanna did fall pregnant, but died after complications arose. The child also didn't make it. Max's father, Bart, now had two children to look after, work and travel. Thankfully, there was a thing such as nannies, and for the first few years of his life, Max hardly had a relationship with his father. At the age of five, his father was promoted to CEO, and Bart asked if he could travel less. It seemed to be a done deal. Max and his father developed a strong relationship and in a whole, so did the entire family unit.

Max was seven when life was disrupted again. Bart had been transferred to London and so the whole family moved. Max was placed in a new school, and was actually coping really well, until he started being bullied. Max didn't exactly know how to handle the children, and he didn't tell his father. He suspected that Louise knew, but she was on her way to a boarding school in Scotland at the time. Now basically an only child, Max really had no support system. The fact that he was molested by his teacher only made it worse. He felt as if he was worthless and not worth the time and money that his father put into him. Music seemed to be an escape, and Max put all his time into practicing the piano and guitar.

At the age of 10, Max also placed in a boarding school on the outskirts of Yorkshire. It was also the first time he shifted. Thankfully he was alone, but he terrified of what was happening to him. For a while his emotions controlled the shift, but it once happened in front of his grandparents from his mother's side (he considers Susanna to be his mother). His grandfather was able to help him, seeing that he was also a shifter. His grandfather urged Max to tell Bart and Louise, and they were pretty understanding. Bart shifted in front of him, explaining that they had known he was a shifter. His grandfather told him about the war between vampires and shapeshifters, and during the summer holiday of that year, Max's grandfather helped him through the change and adjusting to his given abilities.

It was always hard to be among 'normal' people, not only because of the abilities, but because Max realised that he was gay. He was fourteen when he realised that females held no appeal over him, and he came out to his father and sister. They seemed to accept it as they did his shifter capabilities. Max had stumbled upon Darcy thanks to his grandfather. The Academy seemed to be the perfect place for him to be, and after talking it out with Bart, they agreed for Max to attend the Academy.
