Giovanni got out of his bed and stretched. It was something that he still carried over from his human life – a life that left him hundreds of years ago. Things that have left him though, were the desire to eat or drink food that a normal human would want, the sense of time, the ability to fall in love – so he thought. He just believed that the last one left him when he accidentally killed his last lover – and that was at least 300 plus years before hand.
His apartment wasn’t one that he exactly rented or paid for. The previous tenant actually owned it – it was a condo, rather than an apartment, per say. One night, Giovanni got a tad hungry, and this guy just happened to be in the general vicinity of where he was. When Giovanni snuck into the apartment, the guy was just watching TV – he was actually watching True Blood, which was laughable to Giovanni. After sucking the life out of the guy – just after scaring the life out of him -- Giovanni walked around the condo and checked the place out. It had a spacious kitchen and a bathroom, neither of which Giovanni would ever use. The master bedroom was abnormally large for a place like that. There was a guest room and a large living room, and the view of the ocean was absolutely amazing. So, instead of leaving the man there to be found by the authorities, he threw his drained out carcass on the street and then proceeded to take over the place. Sure, the neighbours thought it was strange that this younger guy just started living there and the older guy was just … gone. But that’s the way that it was. And people were too scared of the dark haired fellow that lived there nowadays.
He walked into the guest room to find some more of the ridiculous wardrobe that he had, and he ended up pulling out a plain black v-neck t-shirt and a pair of dark wash blue jeans. Then he headed out. The day was overcast, so he didn’t have to worry about being burnt by the sunlight. He slipped on a pair of Vans and then headed out. He didn’t know what his plan was, and he didn’t know whether or not he would make one throughout the day. But he just wanted out of the apartment. He was certain that there was something that he could learn that day. Four hundred eighty-three years on the planet, and Giovanni only knew one thing for sure. One had the opportunity to learn something new every single day.
He walked out on the pier and just stared off towards the horizon. Even vampires would daydream.
