It had been a little more than a year since she had started dating Axel, with a month of that year being broken up, but nothing had prepared her for what she had to talk to him about. They hadn't had sex until a few weeks ago when they had gotten back together, and now she was worried, no terrified, that she might be pregnant. She hadn't been on birth control and she was now late for her period. They had used a condom but those could always break though she wasn't too sure if theirs had or not. She tried not to think about it, but with a shopping bag in her bathroom and a huge bottle of water in her hand, it was hard not to think about it. Artemis obviously hadn't noticed Rory's odd behavior but she would soon, she would also notice that Rory had been late because Rory was always on time and always complained about it. She did have cramps and bad headaches like normal, but she didn't have the bleeding. She didn't even know why she went to the store and actually bought the pregnancy test but she knew that it was the only way to prove to herself that she wasn't just paranoid about having sex for the first time.
Setting the monsterious water bottle down, Rory decided she would distract herself by getting ready for her date with her boyfriend Axel, so she walked into her bathroom and turned on the shower and waited for it to get warm. For their date, Rory and Axel were going to Bella Viat the Italian restaurant next to J'adore the French restaurant. Rory prefered Italian cuisine more than French, but she did occasionally go with her family who only got the best of the best. Next to the Darcy's and the Valiants, Rory's family was the wealthiest in their society, and they were the wealthiest family of all the shifter clans, though she never acted like she was. Sure she had nice clothes, an expensive car, pretty jewelery but none of that mattered to Rory. She'd be perfectly fine as long as she had her family, friends, and Axel with her though she was very scared that Axel may not always be with her especially if she found out she was pregnant. She didn't know how he would react to the news if she was pregnant, and if she wasn't she'd simply tell him she was paranoid and that would be that.
Jumping in the shower, Rory quickly washed the days stress and sweat away. As usual Rory had gone for her morning run in her human form then again in her panther form so she needed a shower badly. Jumping out of the shower and drying off, Rory grabbed her silk jade green robe and started to dry her hair with a dehumidifier so it wouldn't friz out on her and then let her hair curl up at the ends like it always did on its own. After finishing her hair, Aurora started working on her make-up using a light skin tone colored eye shadow, black liquid eye liner, black mascara, and red lip gloss. Since she was done with her hair and make-up, Rory decided to paint her nails to match her dress. Having only taken an hour and a half prepping for her date, which was a record for her and still having another forty minutes until Axel was coming to get her, Rory decided to not change into her dress yet because she didn't want to get anything on it.
Rory paced her room for five minutes before giving into the paranoia and picked the huge water bottle up to drink so she could go to the bathroom. It took about twenty minutes, but she finally drank the entire bottle but unfortunately she didn't have to go to the bathroom yet. Grabbing another water bottle from the mini fridge in her bedroom, Rory started to drink again hoping that it would make her have to go and made a mental note to replace the one she took so Artemis wouldn't notice if she had come looking for her and decided to steal a bottle of water. Seeing that it was a much smaller bottle of water it had barely taken five minutes for her to finish it, though she did finally have to go to the bathroom. Ripping open the home test and reading the instructions, Rory quietly with shaking hands followed the instructions and set the test on her sink so it could read her results. The next seven minutes were the longest of Rory's life but she couldn't bring herself to actually watch the test. She went about cleaning her room, which she never did, and tried to stay away from the test afraid of what she would see. Finally, time came to read the test, but she was again too afraid. Instead, without looking at the results, Rory threw the test in a plastic bag and into her little white purse before changing into her white corset style silk dress and white mary janes. Axel would be there to pick her up any minute and she was more nervous than she had ever been in her life. She couldn't look at the test, but she knew the answer on the little stick could alter her life completely and could even possibly make the man whom she loved leave. She wasn't ready to be a mom, at least she didn't think she was, she wasn't even seventeen yet though she was very close to her birthday.
When she heard the loud door bell ring through the entire manor, Rory put on a happy face and practically ran down two flights of stairs and to the front door where her boyfriend was waiting. Opening the door before the butler even got close, Rory threw her arms around Axel and kissed his cheek trying to hide her nervousness and paranoia. "Axel! You're early! You're lucky I was ready." She said playfully and turned to wave good bye to the butler who was watching the two amused and grabbed her coat from him. "Thank you Edwin, tell my parents I'll be home late." She told him with a small smile and took Axel's hand.

It was raining like cats and dogs outside, excuse the idiom. Axel was hoping it'd clear up before he had to pick up Rory for their date. His mother was sitting on the sofa, telling him the latest news she had on Axel's brother. Not the one that helped raise him and fought every day to make the world a better place, no, the one that was emotionally dependent on nothing more than injecting/smoking crystal meth. It didn't even break his mother's heart anymore to talk about it, they talked of him now like he was a stranger to them. If it weren't for Axel's twin sister Anne they would've removed the sports channels from their TV. As it was, they couldn't unsubscribe without cutting off the shows that Anne's team regularly played on. Axel happily spoke of his twin, even though she was with her team so much she hardly stayed home for more than a few hours.
He could always have seen her becoming a tough sportswoman. She pushed at least a few kids around when they were young, nobody messed with her. Some of those kids still held grudges at how hard she pounded them. Axel didn't think it right necessarily, but it meant that she was untouched by bullies. He didn't have to do the brother thing of defending her, she did that for herself. Axel blew up with her on occasion now for playing so many games, the family barely saw her. Axel's mother Marta wasn't too concerned. After all her two biological children were either near 50 or near 60 years old. She'd dealt with her children going off and living their lives, being proud of what they'd become (except the one). Axel liked to think he'd done his mother proud. He'd served his country, made his own money in the world, now he was teaching.
Better than that, he was in a stable relationship with a woman. There had been no exploring options, Rory was it for him. He'd never had more than a fling with some girl he'd met at the gym before her, making her the second he'd given his body to and the first he'd given his heart to. Would Rory like to come out with us on the boat this weekend? Marta Lasion asked to her contemplative son sat next to her. Axel preferred the talk about his brother Mladen. Then it wasn't about him. He wasn't much for sharing or opening up, talking about Rory to his mother was a rare occasion. "Don't count on it, she probably has plans already." was his curt answer, he didn't like mixing his girlfriend with his family. That made things a lot more serious than they needed to be.
The only member of his family ever to meet Rory was his grandmother Agnes Lasion who had died two years ago in September. They hadn't even been a couple then, they'd just been hanging out, but his grandmother always recalled how nice she seemed. Oh? What's she doing? his mother asked, Axel had to think for a few moments. "If she wanted you or I to know what she's doing at the weekend, she'd tell us." Axel shrugged, eventually figuring out that he hadn't even asked what she was doing at the weekend. She might actually be available, he still didn't like the idea though. I was only asking.. why are you..? Axel cut her off, "Because you're being worryingly reasonable about spending the weekend with someone I've only been seeing a year." he knew that a year would be long to some people, but not him. He didn't know if he'd ever be ready to introduce Rory to his family.
The rain had stopped but Axel couldn't move. He took a few breaths so he didn't look freaked out when he got there. Is that embarassing? his mother asked, confused. Axel sighed, his mother wouldn't understand. There was no use explaining to her. "I have to go mom." he told her, hurrying out the door. Before he opened it he heard his mother call But your early! but Axel simply bid her farewell. Axel couldn't drive so he walked over to his brother Martyn's house for a lift. He arrived a street away from Rory's to give them privacy. He was surprised to find her practically leaping into his arms, where had this playfulness come from? She'd been so stressed lately, almost since the last night they'd had sex. He took her hand and enjoyed the soft, relaxed walk to the restaurant.

Seeing as she lived in the upper class part of New Castle, her home wasn't a very far ways from the secluded Italian restaurant who's only neighbor was a rivaling French restaurant. She could tell that X was slightly confused by her happy attitude but as long as he hadn't figured it out yet she was fine. It was only a fifteen minute walk but after years of practice Rory could easily walk it in her high heeled shoes. She was too nervous to talk, and didn't want to let X know why she was nervous yet, so she simply kept a smile on her face and acted like she was looking around at her surroundings which she always usually did. Everything was wet from the rain, but to Rory it made everything look pretty. She started to trace the snake bracelet she had specially made, though she had told Axel that it had been in the family for years. Technically she hadn't been lying, the diamonds and two little emerald eyes had been in her family for years, they just hadn't always been on a snake bracelet. She knew that he didn't want them to be too serious but she couldn't help but think that maybe one day he would be and hopefully he wouldn't leave her if she was pregnant. She knew she coudln't raise a baby on her own, and her parents were sure to be furious that their daughter, their baby, got pregnant and even better, by one of the middle school teachers. Her parents held high reputations in their society, but if she was pregnant she knew that her parents wouldn't disown her because that would tarnish their reputation even more, but she probably wouldn't be trusted and may even be shipped to an apartment and given monthly allowances to care for herself and the baby when school was out. She wouldn't expect Axel to make room for her at his place, he hadn't even let her meet his family so why would he let her move in?
All these depressing thoughts floated through her mind, but she tried to not let it show on her face. When they arrived at the restaurant, Rory smiled at X and talked to the host and said that they had reservations for two. The were lead to a slightly secluded candlelit table wit a view of the open forest, seeing as so many animals came from the forest it was supposed to bring comfort to the shifters and even the werewolves who roamed the forest as well as the shifters. Rory herself prefered the forest at night, but because of school rules, which she didn't always follow obviously she was dating a teacher, she couldn't always go for night time run and had to settle for early morning runs. One thing Rory hated was missing a work out, she always felt guilty and fat if she did miss one, but she knew if she was pregnant she would probably have to give up working out as much as she did, though she could still work out just tone it down a little bit. Though missing work outs was the least of her worries, it was if Axel would leave her or not and if her parents would kick her out that worried her the most. She didn't even care that the kids would make fun of her at school or anything like that, though Axel losing his job was also a top worry for her, she just knew that she would never be able to handle a baby on her own, but killing it wasn't an option and giving it up probably wouldn't be either. She loved kids and had always said she wanted a family, just not so early on in life.
Looking across the table at Axel, she couldn't help but actually give a real smile. She knew that everything could change for them once she found out if she was pregnant but she wanted to at least enjoy the moment, because it very well may be her last. Finally looking down at the menu, Rory decided she would probably just get Gnocchi soup and lasagna like she always did, but instead decided to try the veal and gnocchi soup. Taking a sip of her water, Rory cleared her throat and gave Axel another smile. "So, what are you doing this weekend? Artemis invited us to go with her to her family's house on their island. Would you want to go?" She asked him while once again playing with her bracelet. She knew she should look at the test, and see if she should really worry or not, but she was too afraid to. Normally Rory was brave, but the thought of losing Axel forever made her knees weak. She was also wondering what his answer would be, he didn't want to be more serious than they had to be, and she didn't know if spending the weekend together would be too serious.
Looking to her right, ROry saw a family walk in and noticed the little baby boy wrapped in a blue blanket while resting in his mothers arms and the mother was lovingly staring at her husband. The father then kissed his wife's temple and pulled out a seat for her and the high chair for the baby. Rory couldn't look at them anymore so she looked away and played with her hair, normally she would have commented on how cute the family was but she held thoughts of too many random scenarios when she looked at her test and how Axel would react. Hearing the baby start to coo, Rory couldn't handle it and stood up. "I've um... got to go to the bathroom. I'll only be a few minutes, if the waiter comes over I want the gnocchi soup and the veal with a raspberry tea." She said while grabbing her purse and practically running towards the bathroom. Once she made it to the bathroom, she looked in the mirror and just stared at the teenager staring back at her. 'Would I be a good mother? Could I be a good mother? What is going to happen to me?' She thought to herself while brushing away forming tears. Finally getting enough courage, Aurora walked into a stall and slowly pulled out the plastic bag that held her pregnancy test out of her purse and looked at the results.

As much as he tried to block it out, Axel's conversation with his mother was continually running through his head. He felt slightly guilty for shutting her out, feeling even worse about himself that he couldn't talk about relationships with his mother. True, she was eighty-one and so wasn't the greatest advocate for modern romance but she'd done all the relationship stuff before. Axel knew she was with his brother's father a long time and she'd been with the man Axel called father since Axel was five. He finally had to conclude there was no use dwelling now, the focus was Rory and how stunning she looked in her pink dress. Her luscious lips dressed in a seductive red gloss. She also handled fifteen minute walks better than any woman he'd ever known, especially in heels. There wasn't a prissy or shallow inch on her, she was a real woman.
Finally looking down at the menu, Axel ordered a 'Pollo Vesuvio' that sounded nicer in the description than it did in Italian dialect. Axel was a mix of Polish/Russian, getting an Italian accent right was beyond him. Course he didn't know what blood he had running through his veins, he knew zero about his real parents. As far as he was concerned the man who raised him is Russian, the mother that charitably adopted him was Polish. So he was Polish/Russian, by culture and by upbringing. Axel had barely any time to answer her question about the weekend, the second he started thinking about it she was jogging to the bathroom. He didn't understand why she took her purse with her, did women take their purses everywhere? It was beyond him. He'd never seen her so determined to go to the bathroom either, not in the year he'd known her.
He didn't pretend that he knew her expertly inside & out, which was why being serious couldn't work. Though he knew his head made up excuses anyway, his head had nearly sabotaged this relationship only a month ago. He ordered a beer for himself with his meal and ordered Rory's meal according to her order, forgetting that she wasn't having the Gnocchi soup and lasagna like usual. So unfortunately he'd got her order slightly wrong, but at least he knew she liked it. He couldn't understand the expression that Rory had when she came out of the bathroom. He stayed put for a moment because his moment so potently remembered she looked fine when she went in there. Then instantly Axel was at her side, before she'd even reached their table. His frown was fierce.
"Are you all right?"

Rory sat in the stall and started to cry, quietly at first but then it grew slightly louder but not enough to attract attention from outside. Quickly she dialed her best friend Artemis' number that she knew by heart, and also she forgot about her contact list, and started to cry harder when she only got the voicemail. "Hey you've reached you know who! I'm you know where so leave a you know what after the beep!"
[/b] Came the too cheerful for Rory's current state of a voicemail that her best friend had. Taking a second to compose herself, Artemis quickly realized she would still continue to cry at least for another few minutes and she needed to leave the message now. "Artemis," she started while still crying, "I really need to talk to you tonight. I don't know when I'll get home, but you need to come over..." she had tried to continue but a sob came out instead. "I have to go back to the table.," again another sob left her mouth instead of more words. "He's probably wondering where I am and why it's taking me so long. Just please come over when I call you." She finally finished before staring at the little home pregnancy test that had completely changed her life. The test was positive, she knew she'd have to take one with her doctor but she had a feeling that she really was pregnant with Axel's baby. She cried for another few minutes before finally composing herself enough to walk out of the bathroom without crying. She looked into the mirror and instead of seeing the beautiful teenager in front of her, she saw the emotional wreck of a pregnant teenager who now had no makeup and had tear stains running down her cheeks. The only thought that went through Rory's mind was simple and eight words. 'I'm pregnant, and he's going to leave me.' It was hardly a long thought, but it held so much sadness and insecurity in it. Rory didn't know for certain if Axel was going to leave her, but it sure felt like he would. What twenty-two year old middle school teacher wants to hang around their not even seventeen year old girlfriend who got pregnant by him? Not many, was what she thought, but she couldn't hold Axel with the rest of the guys she had met. He dated her when the rules said don't, sure he broke up with her because "they got to serious" but now he was going to have to make some very serious decisions. When she walked out of the bathroom, she definetely didn't look like how she had gone in. Before she even reached their table, Axel was at her side with a fierce frown on his face. 'He probably thinks some guy tried grabbing me again.' She thought quietly to herself before moving away towards the table. "You need to sit down." She told him quietly and looked at her lap as he sat down in his seat across from her. Not being able to look up at him, Rory knew she had to tell him and get it over with now. She wasn't even that hungry anymore, though she should eat especially since she was pregnant, and if everything blew up in her face she could always run to Artemis' home and cry her eyes out there and probably be force fed by Artemis. "I'm pregnant." She said in a scared and quiet tone. She didn't know how he would react, and braced herself for the worst. She wasn't going to lie, she didn't know Axel better than anyone else in the world, but she did know him enough to know that she loved him more than she could any other guy she's ever met. He loved her for her, and not her name or money like every other guy. She couldn't look up at him to see his reaction, she was too scared so instead she took to playing with her napkin, one thing she didn't know about him was if he would leave her or not because she was pregnant or if he would help out with the pregnancy but break up with her because he couldn't handle it. Axel wasn't sure if he wa still standing. He'd never been so thoroughly shocked, taken by surprise, blindsided in his entire life. All of the control he took for granted had just crumbled around him like a flimsy facade, and he saw how precarious it had really been since he'd taken control of his life at the tender age of sixteen. He knew anger was there, but couldn't feel it quite yet. He was numbed. All he could think about was how it had been just those two words. I'm pregnant. Now she couldn't even look him in the eye. Right now, the most curious sensation flooded him - as if an elusive piece of himself was slotting into place, something he hadn't even been aware was missing from his life. It was too much. This woman had betrayed him in the most heinous way by not taking precautions, he knew he had.
At the same time it was his flesh and blood. He couldn't get over the fact that he'd vowed at sixteen, when he joined the army, that he would never be vulnerable or powerless again. The flimsy chance which had led them to choose to go on a date that evening made him shudder, was this the reason she wanted to eat out? Had she planned this? The fierce and immediate possessiveness he felt was raging like a fire within him. When people kept repeating that he'd never fall in love it was presumed that he'd never end up in this sort of predicament where a baby was brought into it. He couldn't imagine the amount of unkindness that would be fired toward them. The work on him too, having to cycle for half an hour to buy her food for cravings 24/7, only to find when he got back to her she'd probably vomited and fallen asleep. Everything was running through his mind at such a fiery pace he couldn't catch a single thought.
This was a big deal - he took a part in the miracle of creating life. He couldn't feel his heart it was thudding so fast. It was a huge change to his way of life, not something to be taken lightly. It was a very very big deal. "Excuse me." he told her apologetically, getting up from his chair and disappearing through the bathroom doors. His chest rising and falling so much he thought he was going to throw up. He dug his phone out of his pocket, knowing exactly who to call. He dialed his brother's number and waited anxiously for Martyn to pick up. His sister knew nothing about this situation, Martyn was fifty-nine and had two children with his partner. Plus he was far more decisive and adaptable than Axel was, even if a little closed-minded to his own views. What's up brother? he asked in that laid back tone, obviously he was at work.
"This is going to have to be quick. I'm at a restaurant with Rory. She's just told me she's pregnant." there was a few seconds pause on the phone. He couldn't even hear his brother's hesitations, it was like his breathing had just stopped. "Martyn? Martyn!" he shouted impatiently, hearing his brother snap back to attention. Well I'm sorry Axe but it's a bit of a surprise! he defended with an exasperated tone. "What do I say? What do I do!? Axel urged, eyes desperate as he awaited his brother's answer. Listen to her. Try not to jump to any conclusions and make sure you both understand the whole situation. And for the love of God don't ask her if the baby is yours- Axel cut in "but she could've---" his brother's booming tone shut him up immediately. "No Axe, do you know what that sounds like to a woman? It sounds like your accusing them of something. I'm calling a safe bet that the baby is yours.
Axel looked defeated as he hung up the phone. He was having a baby, there was no way Rory would consider an abortion or adoption. He knew she'd wanted a family one day, that was what made it imperative that he ended it. Taking a long breath he walked back to his table, his face less puffy than when he left. "Sorry about that." he cleared his throat, capturing his voice again before speaking again. He took another deep breath, it was hard to come to terms with it but he had to, for her sake. His hand reached for hers and covered it. "I want you to know that whatever happens I'm here to support you and to help you stay calm." and the first step towards that was for Axel to calm down himself, he could do this. He would try, that was the main thing wasn't it?

Rory hadn't been on birth control, because she felt she hadn't needed it. She honestly hadn't thought of having sex yet and when she and Axel had finally had sex, she figured she would have to go and start to take it but so many other things were busying her mind that she forgot to actually go and get some. Little tears formed in her eyes but she kept brushing them away. Seeing as she was still looking down at her napkin she didn't see his reaction but she could hear his lack of either excitment which she hardly doubted would have been the case anyway or the anger she had actually expected, maybe even panic but she didn't expect silence. Obviously she had shocked him beyond recognition.
She couldn't help but feel guilty, sure it took more than just her to get pregnant but he had taken more precautions than she had. More tears fell down her face and she gave up on trying to wipe them away. She was sixteen, she didn't think she'd be having a baby for many, many years. She knew that Axel didn't have a car, and if he stook around she wouldn't let him ride his bike the entire way to town and back just to get her food. She'd drive herself or get Artemis to do it for her when she picked up grocerys. It also helped that she could always just go down to the kitchen and grab the food she would eventually be craving, the kitchens always had tons of ingredients that could make numerous different foods.
He said "excuse me" in an apologetic tone which made her think that he was going to leave her. While he was gone she noticed the waiter bringing their food over and saw that Axel had obviously told the waiter the wrong order, but she couldn't find herself to care, she was too busy thinking about the fact that she may have to raise a baby on her own. She knew she should eat her food but she couldn't so instead she played with her food. Her phone then started to play the song "I Do Not Hook Up" by Kelly Clarkson, though she was wondering if Axel thought she did. 'He's probably going to pull the whole "is it mine?" crap. I swear if he does I might just get up and leave myself. That would just go to show he doesn't trust me...' She thought sadly to herself while reading the text from Artemis. She gave a quick reply and put her phone back into her purse were the horrid pregnancy test was.
Finally taking a bite of her food, Aurora realized that she coudln't eat anything. Pushing it to the side, Aurora motioned for a waiter to come over and asked him to bring her a box for her food. She'd give it to Artemis or Apollo, then deciding she'd rather go to their home instead of going back to her own home where she would just cry at the site of all of the baby pictures that were scattered around the house. She couldn't help but let more tears fall down her face. She noticed the family to her right was staring at her with sympathetic looks which just made more tears fall from her eyes.
'He's going to leave me.' Was the first thing that she thought when he came back out which made her confused when he covered her hand with his own and told her that whatever happens he was going to support her and help her stay calm. "So you mean... you're not leaving me?" She asked him quietly. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault... I didn't think and then I forgot and... it's all my fault." She said quietly and slipped her hand out from under his. She felt horrible, she didn't want him to leave her but she didn't want to tie him down if he would be miserable. She just didn't know what to do. "I... I'm sorry."

Axel wasn't letting her go away that easily. His hand caught hers again and squeezed it, properly holding it now so that they were linked. They were in this together and he wanted to show her that. The circumstances weren't ideal, hell, he was probably midway through a discreet heart attack right now, but he wasn't going to leave her. It didn't change the way they felt about each other. "Listen to me Rory. Please." when he told her to listen he sounded like he was talking to one of his students, but when he started begging with 'please' he sounded like a man lost. He repeated the phrase 'listen to me' twice in-between her sobs. When she finally calmed he said what he wanted to say. "Success comes to those who act, to those who make things happen." slightly plagiarized from his mother, but even her bad child was a success in his area. Because his mother had an amazing stomach to pick her children up when they were down and taught them not to cry about things.
"I understand why you thought I might leave you but I'm not. I'm really not." he laid back against his chair to indicate that he physically wasn't going anywhere. The scenario of him leaving, letting her and later down the line some other guy raising his child was enough to make Axel's blood run hot. He then moved his body forward again, hesitaed, then got up off the table and put his arms around her. Over her shoulder he told his waiter that his would need to be boxed up too, he wanted to show her that he wasn't some commitment-phobic jerk. he was someone that could be there for her and she could rely on when she needed it. He took her chin between his thumb and forefinger. "This isn't because I feel responsible or sorry for what's happened ok, before your worried mind conjures up your insecurities." he told her gently but with a hint of a laugh.
The adoration filtered through the lenses of his eyes so potently that his gaze was almost penetrating. Soon the waiter came back with their boxed food, a little disturbed that they had barely touched the food they'd ordered. He released Rory from his arms in order to tip the waiters, "thats for your trouble, thank you" he offered, taking Rory's hand and leading her out.

His hand caught hers before she could fully remove it while giving it a light squeeze and actually held her hand. Finally looking up to his face instead of his napkin. He told her to listen, but she couldn't stop crying, especially because when he first started his sentence he sounded like a teacher but by the end of it he sounded like a lost man. She calmed down slightly and listened to what he had to say. She didn't really understand what he was saying to her but him just talking did calm her down quite a bit. Finally, she wiped the tears away with her free hand and continued to watch her boyfriend with weary eyes.
To be honest, she didn't know if she believed him fully when he said he wasn't going to leave so she simply nodded her head as her mind whirled around more thoughts of guilt about tying him down and making him miserable. Once he moved to basically hold her, she finally understood that he wasn't going to leave her and that they were in this together, she didn't understand how him just wrapping his arms around her could make her feel better but it also started to calm her fears and insecurities down. When he took her chin between his thumb and forefinger and spoke, tears formed once again but without the sobs. She nodded her head and gave a quiet reply, "Okay... you promise?" She had to ask, she was too afraid of raising the baby on her own.
The adoration in his eyes also made some of Rory's depressing thoughts vanish, not completely but to a point where she wasn't going to have a panic attack. Suddenly being released from his arms, Rory mentally shook her head and allowed Axel to take her hand and lead her out of the restaurant. She figured they would go back to her house, but she really didn't want to go home yet. She knew her family would find out sooner or later, but she'd really like to get everything together before she told her family. She also wanted to have a back up plan incase her family kicked her out, she didn't want to burden Axel though so she didn't even bring that up yet, though she didn't know if she could talk more than a few words without crying yet. Finally calming down enough to speak she stopped walking and turned towards Axel. "I'm sorry about all of this. I want you to know I didn't plan this date to tell you, heck I didn't plan on taking the test today but I was in town shopping and I kind of bought the test for later but my paranoia got the best of me... for good reason I guess. I really didn't even know the results until I went to the bathroom in the restaurant. I took the test at home but I didn't, couldn't, look at the results... I was too afraid." She explained to him though she fought back more tears, though luckily their weren't affecting her speech. "I didn't do this to trap you either, I would never do that. I know you didn't want to get to serious and I wanted a family someday, but I promise you I didn't do this intentionally to trap you." She told him honestly while looking down at her shoes.

"Sssh, calm down. This is still our date night. So there shall be only one thing I want to focus on tonight." he said softly in a whisper. He hesitated a little then answered the question she would inevitably ask. "This." and his lips came down to meet hers in a crushing kiss. As he had tangled his fingers in the spill of her hair beneath the moon he felt as though he'd found his place in the world. Maybe Axel would disappoint her as a father to their child, Axel was betting money on it, but he needed to know that the one thing he couldn't disappoint her in was making her feel so attracted to him that she lost sight of the night when she was wrapped in his arms.
Axel smiled as he felt the rush of uncomplicated pleasure from kissing her. His lips and hands trailed pure delight over her skin. His heart was thumping so loud that he put a hand up to his chest, afraid Rory might hear it. "See, your fine. Everything's fine." he whispered. If there was only one job he knew belonged to him it was making Rory feel better, to console and comfort. To hold her when she felt sad or lonely. He did so to the best of his ability. "C'mon, I'll take you home so you can rest up." his arm immediately draped over her shoulder protectively as they walked back to her place. He realized as he was walking that he would need to pass his driving test, otherwise how were he and Rory meant to get around with a baby? Shopping for groceries alone would be a nightmare of a chore.
They enjoyed each others company so much, Axel couldn't bear to think that Rory had expected him to leave her. It sounded ridiculous to him now, after they'd only really got back together recently. He wasn't fool enough to make the same mistake twice. It was what he knew how to do, not make the same mistake twice. His expression shifted to exasperated, as if he'd read every thought that had passed through her mind then dismissed them as tiresome. She wasn't going to forget about the pregnancy even for tonight, which meant a romantic evening was out of the question. He didn't want to cause her anymore tears or sadness, he convinced himself that he'd call her when she was in a more agreeable mood.
"Well, here we are." right outside her door, this was going to be a long night.

Looking at him slightly confused, Rory had just been about to ask what he wanted to focus on when he said "This." and gave her a crushing kiss. When he tangled his fingrs in her hair, Rory wrapped her one arm around his waist and let the other rest on his stomach. One thing Axel never dissappointed Rory with was making her feel attracted to him and making her feel like she belonged there wrapped in his strong arms. Rory didn't know how she and Axel had actually ever really gotten together. It was true, they had had great chemistry together and had gotten along great, but he was a teacher and she was a student, she didn't know what possessed him to actually risk his job to date her. She had been angry when he broke up with her because they were getting too serious, but she had tried to not be too serious with him when they got back together, but now with a baby on the way there was no way they couldn't be serious unless he left or she gave the baby away, and neither of those options appealed to her in any way.
As his lips and hands trailed over her skin, Rory couldn't help but feel like she was one of the luckiest girls in the world, though of course at the moment she really wasn't. 'He really does a good job of making me feel better.' She thought quietly to herself once they stopped kissing. When he said he'd take her home, Rory almost started crying again. She didn't want to go home, not with her parents both being home as well as her two siblings. She knew taht they would figure it out eventually, but she wanted to figure out how to tell them before actually telling them. He drapped his arm around her shoulder protectively as they started walking back to her home, though she just felt like she wanted to crawl up in a ball and stay as far away from home as possible. "How are we going to tell my family? How will your family take this?" She asked him quietly. Rory had never met his family, so she didn't know if they would even like her let alone accept her, especially now that she was seventeen and pregnant. Sure it was Axel's baby but people liked to judge and she really didn't know Axel's family and how they were.
Rory had only thought Axel was going to leave her, because she thought he was afraid of commitement or just didn't want to commit to her or anyone else and a baby is major commitement, especially when the girl you got pregnant is still in high school and seven years younger than you. It'd be very easy for him to say it couldn't be his and leave her, though she didn't think he would do that. He didn't seem the type, but she didn't want to make assumptions because she really didn't know him more than anyone else did. Taking a breath, Rory decided she really wanted to get to know Axel better and she wanted him to get to know her better, especially if they were to raise a baby together. She didn't know if they would one day get married, or if they would break up and they both found someone else and just shared their baby, though she didn't find that idea too appealing but she wasn't going to ruin his life by making him marry her just so she'd be happy and they'd have their baby, but she did want to try and get to know him better and to actually see if they could work out in the long run. "Axel, I want to get to know you better... especially since we are having a baby... I want to get to know you, I want to know you more than anyone else or at least know you better than most people because I can't even say that I do know you better than anyone else because I really don't. I know you don't know that much about me either, so I think maybe we should learn more about eachother... I know you probably don't want to think way to far ahead, but I need to at least have an idea if we're going to work out in the long run or if this baby is going to have two families and be moved back and forth between us because we couldn't make it work." Her voice was quiet, but still loud enough for him to hear, though she prayed that no one else was around because if her parents found out before she told them she would be in deep shit, more so than she already was. They had just reached her house as she finished talking, but Rory wasn't going to go inside until she talked to him at least a little bit longer.

Axel sighed as Rory lured him straight back to baby talk. he knew these things had to be discussed but this was the first date they'd had in a long time, for one night he just wanted to focus on them. It seemed that wasn't happening and he needed to get used to being second in her attentions. He wasn't entirely fond of spending nine months with worry, stress and panic every second of the day and hoped that they could still have some of the playfulness and romance they had before the pregnancy but he knew nothing about pregnancy. His sister was single, his brother had two children but it wasn't as if Axel was around during those pregnancies! They were over thirty years ago. His other brother, he didn't want to know how many women he'd knocked up. "Will you chill? Please?" he asked quietly, taking hold of her shoulders.
"You just told me I'm going to be a dad. I don't know how it was with you but that sort of news needs to sink in before I can make these decisions with you!" he felt like he'd been holding his breath before, now he'd gone and said it. He hadn't expected to be a dad, it hadn't been part of his life plan for a long time, this was an adjustment that he needed to get used to. He didn't want to think about their families right now, it wasn't about them. Their families weren't the ones expecting. "As for this relationship Rory we've only just got back together. There are married couples that split up after decades together and their children are passed between two homes. Just like there are irresponsible parents that somehow make it work. I know you want to predict these things Rory but we just can't."
That was all he had to say on the subject. He couldn't say 'forever' because life didn't work like that. You were lucky to get forever. He didn't know if he and Rory would last years, decades, forever or break up next month. Relationships weren't something he could scale. All he could do was try to be the best boyfriend and the best dad he could be. "So please, calm down and we'll talk about this tomorrow." he promised, kissing her nose. "Goodnight babe." he told her in-between smiles.

Rory hadn't meant to lure him right back to baby talk, but Rory was scared and didn't know what to do. For all she knew her parents could very well kick her out of her home and she didn't know where she'd live then and she knew that her job as a barista wouldn't pay for rent, a baby, doctor appointments, and herself and she couldn't push all of that on Axel but she knew she could get help with the baby from him. Taking a deep breath, Rory nodded and knew she had to drop the baby talk or any talk of the future for now. "Alright, I'm sorry." She said with a small sigh and wrapped her arms around his middle while moving out of his grasp on her shoulders.
She listened to him quietly, and knew that he was right, but she was the kind of girl who wanted answers and having no answers frightened the young girl was young and her whole life was changing right before her eyes. She knew her parents were going to be furious but she didn't know if they would kick her out or let her stay. "Okay, I'm sorry. I just... it's not easy for me either but... you know me. I need answers, I just really didn't think on the fact that neither of us have those answers." She said quietly into his chest.
When Axel kissed her nose, she finally gave him a full out genuine smile. "Okay, good night babe." She said and gave him a light kiss on his lips. Giving him one last hug and another smile, Rory walked up to the door and quietly opened it so not to alarm her parents or anyone else that may be home. Turning back around to wave goodbye to her boyfriend, Aurora gave a small sigh and knew that the next nine months were going to be tough, but hoped that she would have some happiness in there and hoped that she and Axel could stay romantic and playful towards one another. She wouldn't say anything, but Rory worried that once she got big Axel wouldn't find her attractive anymore, but quickly disposed that idea as silly and walked into her house and up to her bedroom to call Artemis.
